2023-05-19

On May 20, 2014, the 2nd China (Changsha) International Mineral and Gem Expo (CMGE) came to a successful end. It attracted 1,700 exhibitors from about 70 countries and regions and 160,000 visitors. The transaction volume exceeded 1 billion yuan.

The 6-day exhibition gave visitors a feast of mineral crystals in viewing, popular science and shopping. The world’s best-preserved Russian mammoth fossil, the stunning malachite azurite and the 1,700-carat Myanmar Mogok ruby were surrounded by numerous visitors.

On the public science popularization day, many parents and their children lined up in the area, waiting for the sand treasure searching, trilobite fossils finding and amethyst balls opening.

The overseas professional visitors mostly came from economically developed countries such as France, Germany, Italy, the United States and South Korea and such countries rich in resources as Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Russia and India, as well as group buyers from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

Many exhibition booths were snaped up by buyers. The transaction volume within the exhibition area amounted to over 1 billion yuan. The Chinese collectors were enthusiastic about restoring the foreign fossils, and some fossil exhibitors admitted that the transaction volume would be much higher than last year. Many parents and their children chose exquisite mineral specimens in front of the booths. Exhibitors also traded actively with each other.

During the exhibition, many forums were held on various themes including fossil, museums and jewelry industry, contributing to more effective communication among participants in the industry.
